What is PTO?
The Lanier Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is an active group of concerned parents and teachers with a mission to promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff of Lanier Elementary with one common goal in mind: to provide our children with the best educational experience possible. Our efforts serve to enhance and maximize the education of every child while aiding them in achieving their highest potential.
What is the mission of PTO?
The PTO provides support to the school by raising money to fund selected classroom activities, teacher supply reimbursements and the purchase necessary supplies for the classrooms and school facility. The PTO activities held throughout the year are made possible by the volunteer efforts of both parents and teachers.
How can I get involved?
The success of the Lanier Elementary PTO is dependent upon the willingness of parents and teachers to become involved. For some families, being involved simply means supporting our fundraisers. For others, it means serving lunch, being a class parent, chairing a fundraiser or serving on the Board. A wide array of volunteer opportunities are available and parent participation is both needed and encouraged to reach our goals. No contribution is too small. Together we can make a measurable difference for our school.
PTO will be using a new online volunteer coordination tool, called Volunteer Spot, throughout the school year. Please email PTO at lanierwildcatpto@gmail.com to join the database and receive emails when volunteers are needed. Follow us on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LanierElementaryPTO/ for updates. Also look for our monthly newsletter from your Homeroom teachers on the third Tuesday of the month.
