Today our 4th grade students were able to listen and participate in learning from the US Army Corps of Engineers about water safety. They learned about the importance of wearing life jackets when they are near water and taking precautions before adventuring in rivers and lakes. We want to thank the US Army Corps of Engineers for coming to Lanier Elementary and teaching them the 4 important rules: 1. Always wear a life vest that fits properly near open water 2. Never swim alone 3. Tell someone/grown up where you’re going 4. “Throw, don’t go” meaning find something to throw to the person who is in trouble, but don’t jump in after them so that you’re not in danger too! Such great reminders for our kiddos! ...

We are also incredibly proud of our 5th grade Huddle Leaders! These students are stepping outside of their comfort zones to speak, lead, and pray for the group. Today, they taught the motions for our memory verse and led our small-group prayers. ...
