Principal of SHMS for ten years prior to my fifteen years at Lanier Elementary School. SHMS assistant principal for four years. Habersham & Gainesville City five years teaching elementary special education and middle school reading/language Arts.
It is my great honor to serve as the instructional leader of Lanier School for Inquiry, Investigation and Innovation as I begin my 35th year in Education. Our mission is to provide an environment that creates opportunities for students to engage in authentic real world experiences through the lens of the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
- Encouraging and equipping our boys and girls to think critically, collaborate with peers, become problem solvers and explore interests that inspire a love of learning.
- Supporting teachers in facilitating memorable learning experiences that develop, foster, promote and provide engaging and relevant lessons within the Inquiry framework.
I have been in education for 16 years. I have worked in a variety of school settings ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade, as well as higher education. I have been a classroom teacher, an Instructional Coach, a University Professor, and now an Administrator. Each one of my experiences leading up to my time at Lanier has helped to prepare me for the journey we are embarking on as Lanier School for Inquiry, Investigation, and Innovation. I am excited to offer our students opportunities to work collaboratively, question together, and learn and grow with each other through hands-on learning experiences. I am confident that LSi³ students will be better equipped to positively contribute to society having spent time here!
